"I design with simplicity, function, and a touch of soul."

Hello, my name is Mário Belchior, I’m 38 years old and currently transitioning into the fields of UI/UX design and 3D design.

My professional journey has been quite diverse. I initially trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine, working as an acupuncturist both in Portugal and abroad. In 2013–2014, I had the opportunity to practice on cruise ships, where I not only treated patients but also gave seminars. Back in Portugal, I continued working as a therapist and massage practitioner before spending eight years in the restaurant industry — the last three of which as a restaurant manager.

Although I enjoyed these experiences, I felt the need to return to something I have always been passionate about: design and creativity. My first contact with design was in high school, where I took a basic Photoshop course and kept experimenting in my free time. Later, while managing the restaurant, I completed a design program from the California Institute of the Arts (via Coursera).

At the beginning of 2025, I decided to fully commit to this new path. I left my job to invest in my education and enrolled in a government-funded 3D Design course in Portugal, where I am currently learning Blender, product design, Photoshop, photography, and 3D printing.

Throughout my career, I have always worked in team environments — whether in spas, restaurants, or now in group projects during my training. I genuinely enjoy collaboration, sharing ideas, and building solutions together.

Outside of work and studies, I enjoy traveling, photography, gaming, and tennis.

I consider myself a fast learner with a strong curiosity for new skills and perspectives. While I may not yet have extensive professional experience in design, my life experience, adaptability, teamwork, and multidisciplinary background allow me to approach projects with a unique vision.
